Places of interest :   Beach  / Negombo  Town / Catholic church  & Old Dutch  Canal. 

Arrival at the Colombo international airport, a warm welcome, You will be meet by our representatives of TROPICAL TRAILS LANKA and Thereafter, proceed to Negombo. Check in at the hotel. In the evening, do a city tour in Negombo, The major beach resort on the West Coast is Negombo. The wide sandy beaches and the safe sea are the major attractions of Negombo, a traditional fishing town. Besides the beach, and seen in large numbers in the Negombo-lagoon.

Places of interest: Munneswaram temple  ,Sri-Mahabodhi (sacred Bo-tree), Brazen palace (2nd cent. B.C.), Ruwanweliseya , Samadhibuddha,  Thuparamaya.,  Twin ponds.  

After breakfast, travel to  Sri Munneshwaram at Chillow it is an important regional Hindu temple complex in Sri Lanka. It has been in existence at least since 1000 CE, the popular Indian epic Ramayana, and its legendary hero-king Rama. The temple is one of the ancient Pancha Ishwarams dedicated to Shiva in the region.

After Lunch We Proceed to  Sri-mphabodhi, Brazen Palace, Ruwanweliseya, Samadhibuddha, Thuparamaya, and Twin Ponds en route to Habarana, if you so choose. The city of Anuradhapura is situated in the island’s north-central region. It was unquestionably the most opulent city in ancient Sri Lanka and served as its first capital. There are two world heritage sites, There are numerous sites of historical or archaeological interest that can be explored.

Places of interest: Sri Koneshwaram Temple, Diving and Snorkeling

After breakfast Proceed to Sri Koneshwaram Temple at Trincomalee, The temple is situated in north west of sri lanka , nearby eastern coast, as well as Gokarna bay. Konesvaram is revered as one the Pancha Ishwarams (five abodes) of Sri Lanka for long time. Being a major place for Hindu pilgrimage, it was labelled "Rome of the Gentiles/Pagans of the Orient" in some records. Koneswaram gains its name from the main deity of the temple, the Hindu God Shiva. Konesvaram played a main role in the religious and cultural history of Sri Lanka which was probably built during the reign of the early Cholas and the Five Dravidians of the Early Pandyan Kingdom. Developed from 205 BC. J.-C., the original kovil combined key features to form its basic Dravidian temple plan. A 17th century stone inscription in the temple indicates that the temple began its history in 1580 BC. Today the temple is one of the important religious buildings and is an archaeological site with rare emblems of the dynasties engraved in the temple stones

The Koneswaram temple is well known for its celebration of the traditional the chariot festival, the Navaratri and Sivarathri functions. The Chariot Festival lasts for twenty-two days in April and focuses on preparing the deities and the community for Puthandu, the Tamil New Year. Navaratri lasts for nine days and is dedicated to various aspects of the presiding goddess, whereas Sivarathri is dedicated to Siva. Devotees visit the temple to attend the daily pujas and make their offerings. Booths are erected outside for the sale of food, drink, brassware, pottery, cloth and holy images. These functions primarily attract Hindus to the temple.

After Lunch We Climb Top of Sigiri Lion Rock, Sigiriya, sometimes also referred to as the eighth wonder of the world, dates back to over 7,000 years ago, through Pre-Historic to Proto-Historic to Early Historic times, then as a rock-shelter mountain monastery from about the 3rd century BC, with caves prepared and donated by devotees to the sangha. The garden city and the palace were built by Kasyapa in 477–495 AD.

 Breakfast at the hotel & proceed to Kandy. While on the way, visit Dambulla Rock Cave Temple. Dambulla Rock Temple was built by King Walagambahu in the 1st century B.C. Dambulla is a world heritage site and is the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. meters of painted walls and ceilings is the largest area of painted walls in the world. The caves contain over 150 images of the Buddha, of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha, carved out of rock and spanning 14 meters.

En route, visit a spice garden to see the different spices that Sri Lanka is famous for. You will be introduced to different spices and shown how some of these spices are grown and processed, and Visit Katukele Pillaiar Kovi

Arrive in Kandy. In the evening, enjoy a cultural dance show.Dinner

One of the holiest and most important places for Buddhists is the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy, also known as Dalada Maligawa, which is located in the old kingdom in the country’s central highlands. One of Lord Buddha’s teeth is believed to be housed in the temple. The tooth relic was delivered to Sri Lanka by an Indian princess by the name of Hemamala many years after Buddha’s passing.A moat surrounds the temple complex, which is bordered by white elephant carvings. The temple complex also provided views of the four primary Devalas (God temples). As soon as you approach the temple grounds,You can see the Octagon and the golden canopy over the chamber holding the tooth relic clearly from this location.

And Visit Katukele Pillaiar Kovi  Temple  it Is a hindu shrine  situated near kandy city, it is dedicated to God Ganesha, one of the most venerated deities in the hindu pantheon,

Although the history of the shrine is obscure, it is considered one of the oldest kovil in the city, locals bileive that the temple was build once the nayskkar dynasty started ruling the kandyan kingdom, it is said that the royal washaram of king Sri vikrama rajasinha ( 1798 AD) who had been using the watercourse originating from bahirawakanda situated behind the kovil had a dream in which he was advised by God iswara to build a temple at the present site, the washeram communicated this to the landlord, Arunasalam ramanathan chettiar who finally informed this to the king, it is said that king ordered him to build a temple at the site, however, some folks link this story kirthi Sri rajasinha 1747 AD

 Breakfast at the hotel and proceed to Nuwara Eliya. En route, You can Visit Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple, The temple sits on a beautiful location in the Ramboda village overlooking the valley of Kotmale and is tied to legend of Ramayana. This mythical legendary tale relates that this location of Ramboda Hilla was where Lord Hanuman had searched for Sitadevi who was hidden by King Ravana

Afterward, Visit a tea plantation and a tea factory where some of the best tea in the world is produced. You will be told all about the process of manufacturing tea and also see how tea is graded. Try tasting a cup of pure Ceylon tea in the factory. Nuwara Eliya is Sri Lanka’s premier hill resort with a fine, bracing mountain climate. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lanka’s tea country, producing 60% of the world’s best tea. Sri Lanka’s highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8280 ft), is located here.and Nuwara Eliya is also famous for British architecture

Nuwara Eliya is a Town in the central highland of sri lanka  with a picturesque landscape Climate, it is located at a altitude of 1.868 m, and is considered to be the most important location for the Tea production in sri lanka, This city was initially developed by British as their holidays center during british colonial period and nuwara eliya looks like little England, most of the building are typically british.

Enroute to Colombo you can watch Spanning 150 acres, Ambewela Farm is well-known across the island for its dairy products, even having its own line of products being sold all around the country at various markets. if you like you can buy fresh milk and cheese Here, the cows roam free, grazing on the green pastures of the farm, and the sky is almost always crystal blue and you can watch beautiful two waterfall

After breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Colombo. Similar to many other capital cities in developing nations, Colombo is rapidly evolving. Where ancient  once stood, new ones appear virtually overnight, although some locations still have an old-world charm. The city still has a century-old clock tower and a number of colonial structures constructed by the British. The folk art center, the new parliament in Sri Jayawardenapura, the Bandaranaike memorial international conference hall, the Pettah bazaar, where one can find bargains, a Hindu and a Buddhist temple, residential areas where mansions of the wealthy can be found, the Colombo museum (outside visit only), and others are some of the places of interest that one can visit.
